Ooo! My roommate & I were there, but our pictures didn't turn out very well. It was my 4th GS concert (though the other 3 were in Indianapolis), and her first. As a violin player, she was absolutely blown away by Jessie.

Thanks for posting!

My cousin, Mom and I were right up against the stage, and my camera has a great flash, otherwise I still would've had crappy shots. That lighting was tough!

I think this was my fourth concert, too. We were standing near a guy who's traveled all over the country for GS shows. I can't imagine.

Jessie was amazing. I liked Ellery, but I like Jessie better, I think.

Boo, I love them and missed them!

Thanks for sharing pics, though!

I believe the Recher is an annual stop. Or, at least, it has been the past couple of years, always around the same time. That doesn't help you right now, though... just a head's up for next year :)

Glad you enjoyed the pictures, at least!

*sigh* one of these days I'm going to get to see Jessie. A friend told me months ago that they were going to be at Towson, but didn't have a date. And my cousin told me Saturday what day it was, but not enough time to take a personal day and get down there. Oh well. Awesome pix though. Mind if I use them in mine and my sister's scrapbooks? Its not on-line...I'll credit you of course. Just let me know--if you don't say no, I'll assume the answer is yes.

Aw, that sucks that you didn't get to see them. It was an amazing show, and it was far from sold out. Jessie's awesome! And she's the tiniest little thing when she takes off her heels and comes down off of the stage.

Feel free to use the photos, or any in the album. Enjoy :)

They keep doing shows in areas I can go to, on nights I can't go. They're doing it again this Thursday (they'll be in NYC which is a very short train or ferry ride for me) and I can't go because we have Thursday off for a holiday and Friday work. And we can't take the day after a holiday off. *pouts* Hopefully I'll be able to go soon.

Thanks for the permission to use the pictures. I'll let you know when I get around to looking at them. Probably on Thursday since I have some writing to do this week and I have to work.

Jessie's tiny? That must be interesting. Although tiny is a matter of perspective. I'm only 5'3" so she may not be that tiny to me!

I'm 5'11" and heavy, so she's a teeny little thing compared to me!

Did Ryan explain or Pat why Ryan has no shoes on?? Can't remember ever seeing that before!
Sep. 12th, 2007 01:23 pm (UTC)
No explanation, but I believe I've seen him shoe-less before!

what song does Ryan play the box-thingie in? I can never remember!

OH! And were any of you at the Milwaukee Irish Fest? It was pouring out, and there was a ton of standing water on the stage, so they all (along with the Celtic Tenors, who are AMAZING and happened to be singing Beggarman with GS) ran and SLID across the stage on their stomachs in the water! There's a video on youtube of it: http://youtube.com/watch?v=TGjNXesofv4

Honestly, because it didn't have words, I have absolutely no idea! I'm bad with telling the instrumental pieces apart. He played the box, Twigger and Jessie played their normal instruments, Peter was on his bag pipes and Patrick was on the bodhran.

I wasn't at the Milwaukee Irish Fest -- it's a bit far for me from MD ;) I'll have to check out the video in a bit! Sounds amusing! I tried to take some video of the concert but only got a little clip of Patrick singing the chorus of Scalliwag in Simlish, the language used on the Sims games. The security guard scolded me for taking videos. I wish I'd gotten Patrick's imitation of Kenny Chesney, though -- God that was funny.

"Abbey Set" is the instramental Ryan plays the box for. He also plays the box on "Don't Go for The One". They've never recorded "Abbey Set" because a couple of the songs in the middle are not public domain. Did Patrick dance during it? The last time we (my sister and I) saw them...the stage was too small and he couldn't dance. "Abbey Set" was a completely different song without him dancing! *thinks about it* I may have some video of that song. I'll check, I couldn't upload a lot of my video cuz almost all of my files were more than 100 megs. But I think that was one of the ones I could. Lemme know if you want to see the pictures/videoes from the shows my sister and I have been too.

He sat and played the bodhran, actually. It wasn't up-tempo enough for him to dance, I don't think.

I'd love to see pictures!

Okay I'm giving you separate links to the different albums cuz that's easier than telling you to go somewhere and then search (mainly cuz I have a whole mess of things in my album right now that have nothing to do with Storm).

These aren't in date order for some reason. First up is Morristown, NJ. I was using a film camera with no flash (we were second row) so the color is a bit odd. And that's the reason there are so few pictures. I took like 4 rolls of film but a lot of them didn't come out despite the use of a semi-professional camera:

Next up is Cortland, NY. Here I had one of my digitals. This one is the first one I ever got and it is only 1.6 megapixal so its not very good for anything but up close shots. Still some of them aren't too bad. We were about 5 rows back, unfortunately we were in a large tent with poles everywhere.

And last Coda Club, NYC. Same camera as the above show, but this time we were right in front of the stage. My sister took most of these cuz I had another camera during the show. She had an odd angle on the stage which accounts for some of the shots.

You're welcome to look at anything else in my album, there's a couple other Storm albums, although they aren't concert pictures, but pictures of some of the finished scrapbook pages and also some wallpapers my cousin made me.

Okay I'll have to send you the videos later because I can't figure out how to get the links. If you just want to go search my username on youtube is shanachie13.

I just realized I forgot the link to Coda, so here it is:

and as for Patrick not dancing...they must have switched up the song again which they do every so often. They had to do it when Stevie left so it stands to reason with Ellery gone, they switched it up again. (Although they had to do it when Stevie left cuz no one else plays the didg).
